IAS@NCU operates within the IDUB programme, which recognises and supports Poland’s leading research universities in their pursuit of international excellence.
What IDUB Means for IAS
The “Excellence Initiative – Research University” (IDUB) is a programme of the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education aimed at strengthening the quality and international visibility of Polish research. In the first competition, held in 2019, 10 universities were selected to receive increased funding for 2020–2026. Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń was among the institutions awarded the status of a research university.
Through this programme, IAS supports interdisciplinary research teams and projects, provides talent development initiatives, as well as access to advanced research infrastructure. At IAS, researchers can conduct studies on interdisciplinary topics and their results can be applied to solving key scientific and societal challenges.
