The NATBIOMED research group’s focus is the creation and development of more natural, organic, and sustainable products, both for personal and medical use.
The project aims to use the natural resources of animal, plant, and microbial origins. Using modern technologies, the research team will investigate how these raw materials can be used in the biomedical, cosmetics, as well as packaging industries.
Additionally, the researchers will analyse how biodiversity affects the health of humans, animals and plants. The project is based in the idea of biomimetics – the art of mimicking nature and its elements to solve humanity’s problems, such as sustainability.
