Climatrix Lab

Full name:

Multilevel Climate Governance and Computational Sustainability Lab

Appointment of the team:

2025

The politics of climate change are a complex system to navigate, especially when some initiatives are successful, while others create disputes.

The Climatrix Lab’s research will focus on energy security and how climate politics can affect it. The project will focus mostly on the regions of Central and East Europe, as well as the Middle East, where power and energy are questions of security, safety, and geopolitical crises.

The Lab’s work is multi-layered. Its goals include finding out why or why not some climate policies work, while also researching the general population’s reactions to the actions taken by governments. In order to do so, the Climatrix Lab aims to create an ‘observatory’ of public opinion to monitor the debates across researched regions. These actions will provide the basis for creating decision-making tools for policy-makers – they will take into account social justice, as well as the environmental costs of new technologies, such as AI.
