On July 2nd, 2026, IAS hosted a workshop titled “Modelling Behaviour with Mixed Effects”, presented by Dr Jack Taylor from the Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. Through interactive simulations and toy examples in the R programming language, participants were shown the logic underlying mixed-effects modelling.

The event was organised by the Toruń Interaction Lab research group (TIL) as part of the Annual Ocular Morphology Seminar (AOMS). This year, the conference was focused on the diversity in human ocular coloration across the globe and the speakers presented recent studies on the external appearance of human eyes, as compared to those of non-human primates. Eyes play a crucial role in human interaction and communication, thus being one of the areas of interest for TIL.
