Through interactive simulations and toy examples in the R programming language, Dr. Jack Taylor will present the logic underlying mixed-effects modelling. By the end of the workshop, participants will have a solid practical understanding of linear mixed-effects models, and the knowledge on how to fit and interpret them.
The workshop is intended for individuals with a basic knowledge of data analysis and programming in R. The workshop will be conducted in English.

Dr. Jack Taylor
Bio:
Dr Jack E. Taylor is a postdoctoral researcher in the Fiebach Lab for Cognitive Neuroscience at the Goethe University Frankfurt. His research focuses on visual word recognition and mechanisms that enable skilled reading. Using EEG, eye-tracking, and behavioural methods, he investigates the early stages of word recognition, with particular emphasis on graphemic and orthographic processing, and how these processes are shaped by context and expectation. Dr Taylor is also interested in how semantic information is represented and accessed, and expresses particular enthusiasm for hierarchical analyses and Bayesian methods.
